Monthly chauffeur service
Reserve the same professional chauffeur and a vehicle no more than four model years old for a fixed block of hours each month. Blocks run 40, 80, 120 or 220 hours, billed in US dollars at the published hourly rate with taxes and a 20% gratuity already included.
All prices are in US dollars (USD) and include taxes and a 20% gratuity.
Booking a car trip by trip works until the week has fifteen trips in it. Then the friction shows: a different driver every morning, a new explanation of the building entrance, a vehicle that may or may not have the child seat, and an invoice that has to be reconciled line by line. A monthly chauffeur service replaces all of that with one arrangement. You reserve a block of hours, we assign a chauffeur who learns your addresses, your timings and your preferences, and the car simply turns up.
Clients across New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami and Washington, D.C. use a monthly block for the same reason: predictability. The rate is known before the month starts, the person at the wheel is known before the first pickup, and the vehicle class is guaranteed. If your week changes, the plan changes with it, because the time is already yours.
There is no separate monthly tariff to decode. A block is the published hourly rate multiplied by the hours you reserve: 40 hours in a Business Sedan at $155 an hour is $6,200; 80 hours in an SUV Business at $185 is $14,800; a full-time 220-hour month in a First-Class Sedan at $285 is $62,700. We do not discount for committing and we do not add a premium for it either, so you can compare a block against ad-hoc hourly hire on the same page and see exactly what you are buying.
Every price includes taxes and a 20% gratuity. Each day of service includes 93 miles; further miles are $3 in a Business Sedan, $4 in either SUV and $8 in a First-Class Sedan. Tolls, parking and onboard Wi-Fi are charged at what they actually cost us, with receipts. Unused hours and unused miles expire at the end of the month and do not carry forward, which is what lets us hold a chauffeur and a vehicle for you rather than for whoever calls first.
| Hours a month | Business Sedan | First-Class Sedan | SUV Business | SUV First | Chauffeur only |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 40 hours | $6,200 | $11,400 | $7,400 | $9,400 | $3,800 |
| 80 hours | $12,400 | $22,800 | $14,800 | $18,800 | $7,600 |
| 120 hours | $18,600 | $34,200 | $22,200 | $28,200 | $11,400 |
| 220 hours (about 10 a day, 22 days) | $34,100 | $62,700 | $40,700 | $51,700 | $20,900 |
Blocks are the hourly rate multiplied by the hours you reserve: there is no discount and no surcharge for committing. Unused hours and unused miles do not roll over to the next month. Hours used beyond the block are billed at the same hourly rate. Taxes and a 20% gratuity are included.
Forty hours suits a principal who needs a car two or three days a week: airport runs, a standing board meeting, dinners and weekend plans. Eighty hours covers most executive diaries that run Monday to Friday with gaps. One hundred and twenty hours is the usual choice for families who want school runs, appointments and evenings handled by one person. Two hundred and twenty hours is effectively a full-time chauffeur, about ten hours a day across twenty-two working days.
If you are unsure, start with the block that matches an ordinary week rather than your busiest one. Any time used past the block is charged at the ordinary hourly rate, so an unusually heavy month costs what it should and no more. Your account contact will look at the pattern with you after the first month and tell you plainly if a smaller or larger block would serve you better.
Most monthly clients take a company vehicle from the classes below, each commercially insured, professionally detailed and no more than four model years old. Others already own the car they want to be driven in. For them we offer a chauffeur-only block at $95 an hour within the city, with a four-hour minimum per day of service; see a chauffeur for your own car for how insurance and care of the vehicle are handled.
Outside the city the hourly rate rises by half, and an overnight adds the chauffeur’s room plus a single $100 travel allowance, the same rule for your car or ours. That covers the Hamptons weekend, the drive from Toronto to Muskoka, or a client visit two states away without a separate quote for each one.
Your monthly chauffeur is chosen for your brief, not taken from the top of a rota. We look at the city, the hours, the vehicle class and the kind of client you are: a family with young children is matched differently from a fund manager with a 6am flight twice a week. Before the first day the chauffeur is briefed on your addresses, entrances, preferred routes, temperature and music settings, and anything that must never be discussed in the car.
Chauffeurs on monthly programmes are licensed for the vehicle they drive, background-checked and trained in defensive driving and client etiquette, in line with the standards of the Limousine Worldwide Directory and the Limousine Association International, of which BlackRyde is a member. Cover for holidays and sick days is arranged with a chauffeur who has been briefed on the same notes; how that cover works for your account is written into your agreement.
We run monthly programmes in the cities where we operate our own vehicles and, through vetted partner operators, in most of the major US metros and the international hubs listed on our cities and regions page. Airport work is part of the block: the chauffeur tracks your flight and meets you inside the terminal at any of the airports we cover, from JFK and LaGuardia to Pearson, O’Hare, LAX and Heathrow. Business travellers who also need corporate travel on account can run both through the same billing.
For travel planning of your own, the Global Business Travel Association publishes useful research on duty-of-care policies, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rates the crash safety of the vehicle models we put into service. Both are worth a look before you sign any transport arrangement, ours included.
Tell us the city, the vehicle class, roughly how many hours a week you expect to use, and any security or privacy requirements. We reply with the block that fits, the chauffeur profile we would assign and a written agreement. The terms that matter to you, such as the length of the term, how changes are made and how cover works, are set out in that agreement before anything starts. Discretion & NDA
Our chauffeurs carry public figures, executives, officials and families whose privacy is not negotiable. These are the rules every assignment follows.
We sign your non-disclosure agreement, or provide ours, before a chauffeur is named to the assignment.
Names, addresses and schedules go only to the chauffeur and coordinator on the job, never onto a shared board.
Chauffeurs do not photograph passengers, homes or guests, and do not mention clients on social media, ever.
No livery, no branded plates, nothing on the car that says who is inside or who arranged it.
Conversations and calls in the car are not repeated. The chauffeur speaks when spoken to, unless safety requires otherwise.
Trip logs and invoices can carry a reference instead of a name, and are shared only with the account holder.

No. Hours and miles are reserved for the calendar month and expire at the end of it. That is what allows us to hold a dedicated chauffeur and vehicle for you.
Additional hours are billed at the same hourly rate as the block, and additional miles beyond 93 a day at $3, $4 or $8 a mile depending on the vehicle class.
No. Blocks are the published hourly rate multiplied by the hours reserved. What a monthly block buys is a named chauffeur, a guaranteed vehicle class and priority on your time.
The term, how changes and cancellations work and how chauffeur cover is arranged are all set in the written agreement we send you before service starts.
Yes. A chauffeur-only block is $95 an hour within the city with a four-hour minimum per day, so 40 hours is $3,800.
